
Garlic & herb butter
Introduce a touch of gourmet flair to everyday meals with our recipe for garlic & herb butter. It’s simple to make and easy to store. And you can easily adjust the recipe by using other fresh herbs, including basil, coriander, dill, oregano, sage or tarragon. You can even mix in fresh chillies!

Ingredients
- 250g unsalted butter, softened
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp black peppercorns, crushed
Recipe
- Allow the butter to soften at room temperature.
- Add the butter to a medium-sized bowl and whip with an electric mixer until fluffy.
- Blend in the garlic and herbs before adding the lemon zest, salt and pepper, ensuring all the ingredients are evenly distributed throughout.
- Place the mixture onto a sheet of cling film or baking paper.
- Shape it into a log (or your preferred shape) and wrap tightly.
- Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
The garlic & herb butter can be stored in the fridge for 2–3 weeks, or in the freezer for up to 3 months. Just slice off a portion as needed. It’s delicious served with bread, on top of steaks, or added to vegetables and pasta for a pop of flavour.
